THE late Datuk Sudirman Arshad’s acclaimed tribute concert is back by popular demand from Oct 26-28. The success of its first season is testament to the legendary singer and entertaine­r’s endearing and enduring legacy.

1 finalist Nikki Palikat and ntv7’s first winner Tria Aziz, as well as Amir Hazril Harith, Ian Chow, Ryonn Leong and Joel Wong will entertain with renditions of his popular hits like

Unfortunat­ely, many did not have the chance to experience the concert because it was sold out, so we will be bringing it back for all Sudirman fans and for the great man himself,” said fellow Sudirman fan and theatre icon, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPaC)

On another note, the Short + Sweet festival returns from Sept 6 to Nov 11. This year its Theatre category has received 80 scripts from local playwright­s and will run for a record three weeks.

There is also a new category called Junior Dance for ages 16 and below. Five hundred artistes will be competing for top honours in Theatre, Musicals, Stand-Up Comedy, Song, Dance and Junior Dance.

All performers compete for a place at the Gala Finals and, ultimately, win prizes, including the highly coveted MercedesBe­nz Malaysia Award for Creative Excellence.
