Felda, FGV celebrate Aidiladha with Chini community

-

PEKAN: The Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration for community in Felda Chini was more meaningful this year as the sacrificial slaughter or “korban” event was jointly organised by Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) and its parent Federal Land Development Authority (Felda).

FGV contributed five head of cattle for the korban, under the names of the poor in Chini as part of the group’s corporate social responsibility. It also donated RM10,000 to Al-Makmuriah Mosque, Felda Chini 03.

Ten head of cattle were sacrificed, including individual sacrifices, with the cooperation of FGV and Felda staff working together to ensure the success of the event.

FGV officer in-charge Datuk Khairil Anuar Aziz said the group was delighted to celebrate Aidiladha with Felda group members and the settler community.

“Every year, the korban event is an opportunity to meet and listen to the voice of settlers with the hope to foster closer relationship between all parties. Insya-Allah, we will continue to undertake this programme in future,” he said.

“Hopefully with the small contribution from FGV, it will turn to be a great benefit to the people of Felda Chini 3 in planning community activities,” said Khairil.

The FGV also donated a total of 25 head of cattle for Aidiladha celebration at several other locations, namely Kota Tinggi, Sekijang, Muar in Johor and Tanjung Malim in Perak.
