NOT RIGHT PLACE FOR A CARNIVAL

-

USERS of a public field at Pinggiran Batu Caves are upset with the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) for having permitted an event organiser of “Karnival Jom Sihat Bersama Upin & Ipin” to conduct activities on the field.

A resident, who wanted to be known only as Daniel, said this was the only public field for residents in the area.

He said following the event, the field had been damaged, which might require it to be closed to the public for some time.

“I am surprised that MPS allowed the organiser to hold its event in such a place. Not only had the tents been set up in the middle of the field, but the vehicles parked on the field also damaged the grounds. The situation was worsened due to heavy rain.

“When I reported the matter to the council’s Valuation and Property Management Department, I was told that it had received collateral damage of RM1,500 due to the field’s condition. I urge the council to take action against the organiser,” he said.

He said the council should have provided another location to the organiser to hold its activities.
