32 flood victims evacuated
SRI AMAN: Thirty-two villagers were evacuated when their longhouse was flooded following heavy rain in Engkilili here on Saturday.
State Disaster Management Committee said yesterday the flood victims included a 4-month-old baby from Rh Lembu Entalun Skrang here.
It said they were moved to a relief centre at Dewan Dr Johnical Rayong, Skim Skrang.
“The centre was opened at midnight to temporarily shelter the evacuees.”
The downpour which began at 9pm triggered the flood. No casualties have been reported.
