InfoWatch opens full-service office in Kuala Lumpur

-

KUALA LUMP UR: Info Watch Group has announced the opening of InfoWatch Sdn Bhd, its fullservice office, here, to focus on the Malaysian, Indonesian and Vietnam markets.

InfoWatch Sdn Bhd is the group’s second foreign business, with the first one set up in Dubai, on August 15.

The cybersecurity and data leak prevention expert said in a statement the new entity would drive sales, expand the partner and customer ecosystem, provide technical support for the parent company’s customer base, and conduct InfoWatch product training for customers and partners in Southeast Asia.

It said the Malaysian team would be joined by Russian sales managers and engineers, and local specialists, and would focus on government agencies and large businesses in finance, insurance and healthcare industries.

InfoWatch currently serves more than 1,500 customers worldwide with proprietary and patented cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies.

Its full suite of data leak prevention and cybersecurity solutions can “understand” and analyse content in Asian languages for the prevention of data leakages.

InfoWatch Group chief international business development officer Vladimir Shutemov said the company had landed a number of key customers in Malaysia, including Koperasi Bank Persatuan Malaysia Bhd.

“We settled on Kuala Lumpur as the headquarters because InfoWatch already has a local customer base and partner relations here since 2013. Malaysia will be a starting point for our company to grow its presence in the Southeast Asian region.”

He said Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia, was in need of localised data leak prevention solutions that could analyse content by understanding the linguistic content of local languages.

“InfoWatch is ready with solutions that can detect, analyse and capture data in languages such as Malay and the Indonesian language.

“This is one of our differentiators, because data loss and leakage can happen in any language, but it is more often leaked in the local language,” he said.

InfoWatch provides a comprehensive approach to the problem of maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of corporate data.

The firm’s solutions ensure control and audit capabilities over all internal and external communications, including email, Internet services, document-related operations on workstations, printers and removable devices.
