» TURTLE TROUBLE

Didi Salam:

The reaction is absurd. If there’s no licence, then the turtles hatched there need to be transported to Rantau Abang? Gosh. The turtles just need to be separated. Get the resort operator educated on conservation techniques.

Brian Yeo:

I agree with your comment. Give the resort operator a warning and educate all beach resort operators to help with turtle conservation, not close them down. All parties must help conserve these cute little sea creatures for our future generations. Government effort alone is not enough.

Iffiey Khairudin:

I’ve seen the same thing happen at a sanctuary in Pahang. Yes, they do separate the hatchlings from the adult turtles there. But, the one I saw was a big turtle attacking a smaller-sized turtle. Sadly, all adult turtles they have there are living in a small man-made pond for years. I don’t know if the big turtle did that because they don’t get fed or what. But yes, the incident happened before my eyes and was witnessed by kids who came with their parents.
