‘US call to end atrocities timely’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The MalaysiaUnited States consensus to push Myanmar to end atrocities against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar is timely, ahead of the Asean Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) in Manila next month.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said yesterday the call for stronger international community response was in line with the ministry’s intention to discuss the matter with Myanmar and other Asean countries during the meeting.

“(This is) in line with the Defence Ministry’s intention to discuss bilaterally with Myanmar and other Asean countries, with the plus countries, which includes the US next month during the ADMM meeting in Manila.”
