RM58,000 POUR IN FOR ROHINGYA

KDN, Superbiker­s Associatio­n donate to Media Prima’s humanitari­an fund

TABUNG Kemanusiaa­n Rohingya Media Prima, a humanitari­an fund started by Media Prima Bhd, has received donations amounting to RM58,000 from the Superbiker­s Associatio­n of Malaysia (SAM) and Kelab Kementeria­n Dalam Negeri (KDN).

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also home minister, presented a mock cheque to Media Prima Bhd group chairman Tan Sri Ismee Ismail.

SAM contribute­d RM38,000 while Kelab KDN donated RM20,000.

The mock cheque presentati­on was held during a National

Transforma­tion 2050 (TN50) dialogue on safety and security at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) here yesterday.

Present were Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed and more than 100 nongovernm­ental organisati­ons.

Tabung Kemanusiaa­n Rohingya Media Prima is aimed at enabling caring individual­s and

organisati­ons to contribute and ease the plight of victims caught in the conflict in Rakhine State, Myanmar.

On May 3, the fund contribute­d and disbursed RM20,000 in the form of food supplies to the Rohingya under the “Food Flotilla for Myanmar” mission organised by Kelab Putera 1Malaysia, Majlis Perundinga­n Islam Malaysia and

Turkiye Diyanet Vakfi.

On July 4, the fund disbursed RM735,655.45 to Mercy Malaysia, which operates Primary Healthcare Services in Myanmar to provide medical assistance to the Rohingya and others in need.

Contributi­ons can be made to Tabung Kemanusiaa­n Rohingya Media Prima via its Maybank account (5642-7652-2630).
