RM58,000 POUR IN FOR RO­HINGYA

KDN, Su­per­bik­ers As­so­ci­a­tion do­nate to Me­dia Prima’s hu­man­i­tar­ian fund

TABUNG Ke­manu­si­aan Ro­hingya Me­dia Prima, a hu­man­i­tar­ian fund started by Me­dia Prima Bhd, has re­ceived dona­tions amount­ing to RM58,000 from the Su­per­bik­ers As­so­ci­a­tion of Malaysia (SAM) and Ke­lab Ke­mente­rian Dalam Negeri (KDN).

Deputy Prime Min­is­ter Datuk Seri Dr Ah­mad Zahid Hamidi, who is also home min­is­ter, pre­sented a mock cheque to Me­dia Prima Bhd group chair­man Tan Sri Is­mee Is­mail.

SAM con­trib­uted RM38,000 while Ke­lab KDN do­nated RM20,000.

The mock cheque pre­sen­ta­tion was held dur­ing a Na­tional

Trans­for­ma­tion 2050 (TN50) di­a­logue on safety and se­cu­rity at the Po­lice Train­ing Cen­tre (Pu­lapol) here yes­ter­day.

Present were Deputy Home Min­is­ter Datuk Nur Ja­zlan Mo­hamed and more than 100 non­govern­men­tal or­gan­i­sa­tions.

Tabung Ke­manu­si­aan Ro­hingya Me­dia Prima is aimed at en­abling car­ing in­di­vid­u­als and

or­gan­i­sa­tions to con­trib­ute and ease the plight of vic­tims caught in the con­flict in Rakhine State, Myan­mar.

On May 3, the fund con­trib­uted and dis­bursed RM20,000 in the form of food sup­plies to the Ro­hingya un­der the “Food Flotilla for Myan­mar” mis­sion or­gan­ised by Ke­lab Putera 1Malaysia, Ma­jlis Perundin­gan Is­lam Malaysia and

Turkiye Diyanet Vakfi.

On July 4, the fund dis­bursed RM735,655.45 to Mercy Malaysia, which op­er­ates Pri­mary Health­care Ser­vices in Myan­mar to pro­vide med­i­cal as­sis­tance to the Ro­hingya and oth­ers in need.
