MYTV EXTENDS DECODER PROMOTION

Price stays at RM199 until Dec 31 due to overwhelming response

MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd has extended its digital television decoder’s promotional price of RM199 to December 31, citing overwhelming response.

The promotion was supposed to end on Saturday.

The original retail price for the decoder is RM317.

“We have also widened our retail network to more than 220 outlets. The extension of the promotional price is to enable more Malaysians to own the decoders and enjoy digitally clear and crisp audio and video on myFreeview,” said chief executive officer Michael Chan in a statement.

Malaysia is migrating to a fullydigitalised broadcasting system by next year.

“The best thing is the decoder is a one-off investment as the service comes with no monthly commitment and customers need not worry about subscription fees. All you need is a working UHF antenna,” Chan added.

MYTV decoders are compatible with old and new TV sets.

Users need only connect the decoder to the TV set and a working UHF antenna.

Both indoor and outdoor antenna types can be used, although the outdoor UHF antenna is recommended.

MYTV decoders are available for purchase online at https://shop.mytvbroadcasting.my and from more than 220 electrical outlets around the country.

For a limited period, MYTV is also running a special “Buy 10 Get 1 Free” promotion that is targeted at its registered installers, residents’ associations and commercial establishments.

MYTV decoders enable viewers to enjoy Siaran Digital myFreeview that currently offers nine free-to-air TV channels and four radio stations.
