Progressive metal band Dream Theater to rock KL on Oct 2
PROGRESSIVE metal band Dream Theater will play in Malaysia for the first time as part of the next leg of its Images, Words & Beyond 25th Anniversary Tour.
This is in celebration of its breakthrough Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gold-certified album, Images & Words.
The band will perform at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Oct 2 at 8.30pm.
Its concert here will surely take fans back in time with classic numbers like Pull Me Under, Another Day, Metropolis Part 1 and Under A Glass Moon, among other hits.
Dream Theater comprises John Petrucci (guitar), John Myung (bass), Mike Mangini (drums), James La Brie (vocals) and Jordan Rudess (keyboards and continuum).
Formed in 1985, Dream Theater has sold more than 10 million records worldwide, in addition to earning five RIAA gold and platinum certifications, as well as awards and nominations.
Images & Words, which was released in 1992, won the award for Loudwire’s Metal Madness 2013, defeating works from Ronnie James Dio, Megadeth, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Metallica and Judas Priest.
This year, the album was ranked 95th on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time”.
From the band’s 12 studio albums to its latest album The Astonishing, Dream Theater has maintained its identity of emotional rock.
Tickets to the concert, organised by IME Productions, are priced at RM488 (VIP), RM398 (Category 1), RM308 (Category 2), (Category 3) RM238 and (Category 4) RM188.
Numbered seating and ticket prices are inclusive of six per cent GST, but exclusive of a RM4 processing fee.
