Adam snatches a point in Aragon

-

MOTO3 rider Adam Norrodin did well to salvage a valuable point as he battled tyre issues and a loss of confidence at the Aragon Grand Prix yesterday.

The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Racing Team rider came in 15th, 2.504 seconds behind Leopard Racing's Joan Mir (25:57.607s) who entered the history books as the first man to win eight races in a season in the series.

Adam, who lined up 13th on the grid, admitted he was not satisfied with his performance.

The 19-year-old highsided during qualifying after being pushed wide onto a dirty section of the track.

"I had a bad start to the race and what I did was not enough," said Adam.

"I had a really big crash yesterday (Saturday) and lost a bit of confidence. I was also struggling with some problems with my rear tyre and had to manage that throughout the race.

"It is disappointing as we are not far off the front group. I am just missing something from my side."

SIC teammate Ayumi Sasaki came in a spot behind, 2.539s off the winning pace.

Adam is currently 19th in the overall Moto3 standings on 19 points while Sasaki is 21st (16pts).

In Moto2, Hafizh Syahrin (Petronas Raceline), who finished third at Misano earlier this month, placed just out of the points in 16th, a distant 22.601s behind race winner Franco Morbidelli (40:09.904s) while Khairul Idham Pawi (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) failed to finish the race. Fadhli Ishak
