Tonton to bring in ‘Inhumans’ series
THERE is good news for all Marvel Comics fans.
Its new superhero live-action series Inhumans will stream on local video-streaming service tonton next month, the same day as its United States premiere.
The eight-episode series will be available for tonton VIP subscribers from RM3.
“We are excited because this is the first time tonton is bringing in the Marvel series on its platform. VIP subscribers in Malaysia will have the privilege of watching it on the same day as it airs in the US,” said Media Prima TV Networks (MPTN) director of tonton, licensing and merchandising Airin Zainul.
Inhumans revolves around a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly-unique powers.
It stars Anson Mount, Iwan Rheon, Serinda Swan, Ken Leung, Mike Moh, Eme Ikwuakor, Sonya Balmores and Isabelle Cornish.
“Inhumans is just the beginning as we strive to bring more Marvel content to the platform with Marvel Comics’ series Runaways and Cloak & Dagger slated for similar exclusive release on tonton next year,” Airin said.
Tonton is also offering a special Super Hero Package that comprises a year’s subscription of tonton and official Inhumans merchandise.
It costs RM48, which is 50 per cent less than the normal rate for a year’s subscription, and is available from Oct 13 to Nov 30.
Inhumans is also slated to premiere on Media Prima’s free-toair channels in January.
MPTN director of Brand, Content and Strategy, Sherina Mohamed Nordin, said: “It will be scheduled in the No. 1 English programme slot in the country. We are selective when it comes to what titles to schedule in that slot, and we are confident that Inhumans will enhance MPTN’s leadership position.”
