KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), an international investment promotion agency, synonymous with Malaysia’s economic evolution, celebrated its 50th anniversary yesterday.

It marked its anniversary in a series of programmes and activities held throughout the year, such as the Mida Open Day 2017, which included a career fair, regional supply chain conferences as well as seminars and dialogues.

In his speech at the organisation’s gala dinner yesterday, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed praised its “strong commitment and innovative efforts, which has enabled the organisation to manage all challenges successfully”.

“We do not get to where we are by chance. All stakeholders have played important roles in Mida’s success over the years.

“While it is important for us to take stock of our achievements, we need to set our sights on creating an even better future... Visibility is important. In the era of connectivity, we need to continue collaborating with other parties in our efforts to create a more conducive business environment that will strengthen Malaysia’s position as an attractive investment destination.”

Present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

Mida presented media organisations with awards.
