‘I’LL GIVE UMRAH PACKAGE TO PARENTS’

TWENTY-TWO-year-old Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia student Muhammad Luqman Hakim Othman beat two others to emerge winner of the Islamicbased reality show Da’i Pendakwah Nusantara Season 5.
He received an all-expensespaid umrah package for two, which he planned to present to his parents.
“For their undying love and support towards me since I was born, my parents deserve much more than this.
“But, for now, this is a little something for them.
“I really didn’t expect to win as the other finalist (Nur Afiqah Mahmud) seemed to have a better chance of clinching the top spot,” said Muhammad Luqman, a.k.a. Da’i Hakim, after the finale of the TV programme, which was broadcast live from Sri Pentas 2 in Shah Alam on Sunday.
Apart from the umrah package, the Selangor-born also took home RM50,000 and a trophy.
Da’i Afiqah, 22, and Da’i Fahmi (Muhammad Fahmi Zukifly), 19, emerged as the first and second runners-up respectively. Both received RM5,000 and a trophy each.
The three finalists also received full scholarships from AlMadinah International University in Shah Alam to take up any of the courses at the institution.
The other two contestants, Da’i Aiman (who is also the show’s sponsor Almas Beauty & Health’s Choice Da’i) and Da’i Syafiqah, received partial scholarships.
“Alhamdulillah, we’re pleased to note that for this season, Da’i Pendakwah Nusantara maintained its position as the No. 1 Islamic-based reality programme in this country, with an average rating of 1.5 million viewers,” said Siti Nurlisia Mohd Nazri, Media Prima Television Network’s brand management and programme group general manager.
“This season’s participants come from various educational backgrounds, which makes it a more exciting mix for the show.
“While some (participants) are pursuing syariah, counselling and Arabic studies, the rest are tahfiz.
“There is a contestant who had just completed his SPM,” said Da’i Pendakwah Nusantara Season 5 producer Shukri Ibrahim.
