Faulty parking meter in Sri Petaling

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Motorists are complaining about the failure of the authorities to repair a faulty parking meter in Sri Petaling.

Gilbert Lai said he called the helpline number on the parking meter eight times but no action had been taken to rectify the problem.

“As a frequent visitor to this area, I have been using the parking machines. Lately, there’s always an error when the number nine on the machine is pressed and the digit will not appear on the display screen,” said Lai who is concerned that he could be penalised by the Road Transport Department.

ACTIONLINE:

A Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan spokesman said motorists who were having problems using the parking meter could opt to pay online.

She said the parking meters were solar-powered and the display screen would go blank when it was not in use. She said motorists would call to report that the meters were out of order when this occurred.

“The machines could also slow down after a heavy downpour, but this happens very rarely.

Motorists can use the Jomparking app to pay or visit www.jomparking.com.”

The Jomparking app can be downloaded at Google Play store and Apple App store.

She said it would take one to three days to repair faulty parking meters.
