NEW CMC MOPED, CAFE RACER FOR FANS
LOCAL bike fans have two new models to choose from with the introduction of the CMC Ario 110 moped and the CMC Italjet Buccaneer 250i cafe racer.
Chear Global Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of CMC motorcycles, unveiled the two new models to motoring journalists at the Elite Speedway Karting Circuit in Subang Jaya, Selangor, recently.
CMC bikes are assembled locally by Chear Global.
“We are excited to have a product of good design and superior performance in its class to offer the riding community and at an affordable price tag too,” said Chear Global chief operating officer Leong King Choon.
The Ario 110 moped is powered by a 107cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, Euro3-compliant engine, which outputs 6.4hp at 7,500rpm and 7Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. It weighs 107kg and gets a four-litre fuel tank and a four-speed gearbox.
The moped is equipped with a front disc and rear drum braking package and is paired with the tubeless 17inch cast wheels, front and rear. Suspensions comprise telescopic forks and twin shock absorbers.
The Ario 110 is priced at RM3,988 (before GST). Colours available are metallic red and black.
The Italjet Buccaneer 250i cafe racer is not just a head-turner, it is designed to enhance comfort. The swooping curve “knee-intended” 14-litre fuel tank, for example, allows riders to hug the tank with their knees comfortably when riding.
It is powered by a 250cc, V-twin, fuel-injected engine, which produces 17.4hp at 8,000rpm and 19Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. Large brake discs, 280 mm diameter disc in front, and 240 mm disc at the back, ensure effective and safe braking, and suspensions are smooth with the telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock system at the back.
“The cafe racer motorcycle remains hugely popular till today and in fact over the past year has made a comeback,” said Leong.
The Buccaneer is priced at RM15,500 (before the Goods and Services Tax) and comes in yellow gold, black, and matte black.
The Ario is already in stock but if you are considering a cafe racer, the Buccaneer will be available from early this month. Both models come with a one-year or 10,000km manufacturing warranty, whichever comes first.
