Puad: Kit Siang has many tricks to deceive allies

-

KUALA LUMPUR: An Umno Supreme Council member yesterday described DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang as having “many tricks up his sleeves to deceive his allies” in opposition pact Pakatan Harapan.

Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi claimed that one of Lim’s manoeuvres was his continuous denials on his alleged ambition to be prime minister should the opposition win the 14th General Election.

“Lim has been very angry with the media (following reports on the allegations).

“Lim claimed he has never made an open statement that he is eyeing the post despite being in politics for 52 years.”

He said Lim was elated when the pact’s chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, dismissed claims about DAP’s alleged aspirations for the post.

“Whatever the denials and whoever denies them (the allegation), no one will believe it.

“The same goes with DAP, which claims it is a democratic party due to its name.

“But, can people believe DAP is a democratic party when its central executive committee election isn’t recognised by the Registry of Societies? The party is ruled by the Lim dynasty.”

He said former DAP national vice-chairman Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim had described DAP as being “as democratic as North Korea”.

“Lim lasted for as long as he has because the party’s electoral system is not very democratic.

“He used the ‘Ubah ’ (change) slogan during the 13th General Election, but will the people believe in this empty slogan again?

“See what DAP has done to Penang. Its chief minister, (DAP secretary-general) Lim Guan Eng, has been charged with corruption.

“The proverb ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ suits Lim.”
