THE fourth and final series of the MyRumah Property Showcase for the year, held at The Curve shopping mall, continues to draw good response from the public, with more than 10,000 visitors recorded thus far.

The showcase, organised by the New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP), is a three-day event, which kicked off on Friday, featuring seven well-known property developers, 23 property experts and six forums.

NSTP Advertisement general manager (agency and SME) Roche Chew said more than 300 potential buyers had registered for houses priced between RM200,000 and RM1 million, which were showcased at the event.

“I believe we provided a good platform to educate our readers, as they have gained valuable knowledge on property matters while also providing opportunities for developers to showcase their products,” he said.

“A large number of our readers came to the event for the forums and talks, and to meet with the various property experts to get free consultation.

“We have helped developers draw in more serious buyers.”

Chew said the topics at the talks and forums included property investment hotspots, fire safety issues, tenant management, housing loan and Central Credit Reference Information System issues.

Aiming to make NSTP a leader among media companies for property consultation, Chew said it hoped to continue to organise the MyRumah Property Showcase annually.

TRB Ventures Sdn Bhd cofounder and chief executive officer Quek Wee Siong, who was among the speakers in one of the forums, said MyRumah provided a platform for developers and relevant agencies to showcase their products and services while also raising awareness among the public of property matters.

“I believe all parties — property developers, companies providing relevant services and consumers — benefited from the event,” he said.

The first MyRumah showcase was held in March at NSTP’s headquarters in Balai Berita, Bangsar, followed by the second showcase at Komtar JBCC in Johor Baru in May. The third was held at Aman Central Mall in Alor Star in August.

The first two exhibitions saw 37 property units sold valued at RM30 million.
