MEDIA PRIMA PARTNERS DISNEY TO BRING IN MARVEL SERIES
KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd’s television arm, Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN), has partnered with Disney to bring in Marvel Television live action series.
The first Marvel series, “Inhumans”, is now available on tonton.
MPTN brand, content and strategy director Sherina Mohamed Nordin said the collaboration with Disney was in line with the network’s strategy to offer quality and premium content to its audience.
MPTN tonton and licensing and merchandising director Airin Zainul said the partnership was in line with tonton’s business strategy of expanding its audience base, especially in the urban demographic markets.
The aim is to increase tonton’s urban demographics by 25 per cent at the end of the first quarter of next year through the introduction of exclusive Marvel action series.
tonton VIP subscribers in Malaysia get to view “Inhumans” on the same day as the United States.
Airin said this was the first time tonton was bringing the Marvel series on board its platform.
tonton has been expanding its business this year to Singapore via smart partnerships with local telco Singtel and to Brunei via local telco DST.
