42 senior cops promoted, transferred in reshuffle next month
KUALA LUMPUR: Police yesterday announced reshuffling, transfers and promotions involving senior officers in 42 positions nationwide.
Federal police’s Corporate Communications head Datin Asmawati Ahmad said the reshuffle would take effect on Nov 9.
Leading the list is Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.
He will take over Strategic Resources and Technology Department di- rector post from Datuk Seri Abd Manan Mhd Hassan.
Replacing Acryl Sani is KL police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh. Amar’s deputy, Datuk Mazlan Lazim, will take over as the city police chief. He is promoted to the rank of commissioner of police.
Taking over Mazlan’s position is Perak deputy police chief Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob.
Zainuddin’s post will be taken over by Omar Mammah, the federal Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department deputy director (Strategic Planning).
He will be replaced by federal Management Department deputy director (services/posts) Datuk Fatimah Abd Hamid.
Federal Criminal Investigations Department deputy director (crime syndicate) Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin will take over the federal CID deputy director (investigation) position.
Saiful’s position will be taken over by Melaka deputy police chief Datuk Ruslan Hassan. He is also promoted to the rank of deputy commissioner of police.
Ipoh police chief Assistant Commissioner Sum Chang Keong will be transferred to the Royal Malaysia Police College as the administrative/research division head.
He is promoted to the rank of senior assistant commissioner of police.
Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Superintendent Mohd Ali Tamby will take over Sum’s position. He is promoted to the rank of assistant commissioner of police.
City Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nadzri Hussain will be transferred to the Special Task Force for Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism as chief assistant director.
He is promoted to the rank of senior assistant commissioner of police.
Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Chong Kok Sin will swap his position with General Operations Force Northern Brigade deputy commander Assistant Commissioner Abdul Ghani Mohamad Ji.
Superintendent Zulkifli Adamsah will be promoted as Kuala Lumpur International Airport police chief with the rank of assistant commissioner of police.
