MSU has received awards of Excellence in Quality International Education and Outstanding Contribution in International Education from United Kingdom accreditation body, the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges & Universities (ASIC).
The two awards were presented to MSU President, Professor Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid at ASIC’s 10th-Anniversary Inaugural International Conference 2017 in Kuala Lumpur.

MSU was announced as the Best Brand in Education for Leadership in Human Capital Development at the Asia Pacific BrandLaureate Elite of Elites Awards, and won the Most Entrepreneurial Private University 2016 title from the Higher Education Ministry (MOHE).
The ASIC double awards are on top of Shukri’s Asia Pacific award of Entrepreneur of the Year in the Education Industry. Accreditations to MSU include Premier University Status, also from ASIC UK.
MSU is the first non-Japanese university accredited by Japan’s Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow (ABEST21).
The university has been rated Tier-5 Excellent Status University by MOHE, and rated 5 Stars on the QS World Universities Rating System, for Teaching, Facilities, Graduate Employability, Social Responsibility, and Inclusiveness.
