Frustrated Musonda vents out on Instagram

-

LONDON: Charly Musonda has posted a cryptic Instagram message appearing to show his dissatisfaction at his lack of progress at Chelsea.

The 20-year-old Belgian has made just one senior appearance for the Blues since joining their youth system from Anderlecht in 2012, having also spent time on loan at Spanish side Real Betis.

He has been on the bench on four occasions this season, but has now appeared to question a Chelsea system notoriously tough to graduate from and which regularly sends dozens of young players out on loan rather than keeping them at Stamford Bridge.

Sportsmail understands the young star is growing frustrated with his lack of opportunities, especially after manager Antonio Conte persuaded him to stay with a promise of game time.

Simply posting an image of a completely black screen, Musonda wrote: “You sacrifice, you work hard, harder, you give more than what’s expected, and often more than you can, because you love what you do and clearly more than you should.

“And what do you get back? Literally nothing,... done.

“However, with this being said I will continue with same dedication and commitment to this great game.”

His post was flooded with friends encouraging the youngster, with his brother Lamisha, who plays for Belgian club Mechelen and also previously spent time in the Chelsea youth system, appearing to take a shot at the way Chelsea operate in a post which was soon deleted.

Lamisha wrote: “It’s starting to look like they wouldn’t know what they have if they had Ronaldo or Messi coming from the academy.”

Musonda’s one first-team appearance came in the Carabao Cup victory over Nottingham Forest in September, with the youngster admitting he cried tears of joy when finding the net in the game at Stamford Bridge.

“It was an emotional moment, I can’t even remember it,” said Musonda after the 5-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

“I was in tears to be honest. If the lads didn’t come and get me I don’t know what would have happened.

“The fans were great today. They gave me a big lift and they were amazing.” Daily Mail
