NSTP photographer bags award for MRT picture
KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd (MPB) bagged three awards at the Construction Industry Development Board Media Appreciation Night here on Friday.
Under the photography category, New Straits Times Press (NSTP) photographer Mohamed Sairien Mohamed Nafis won second place for his photo titled “MRT starts operation”. He took home RM3,000, a trophy and a certificate.
In the Electronic Broadcast Media and News Video Portal, the second and third spots were won by NTV7 and TV3 respectively.
NTV7’s Wan Eizzul Islam Wan Zulkifli and Khairul Azwan Khalil earned second place for their story titled “Federal trunk roads to offer unique experience #FTRoadpedia”.
They took home RM3,000, a trophy and a certificate.
TV3 broadcast journalist Mohd Safwan Sawi and videographer Mohd Jufri Mohd Judin won third place for their story, “MRTMass flow transit” (Transit Aliran Massa). They took home RM2,000, a trophy and a certificate.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who presented the awards, said this year, the ministry received 144 entries for print, electronic and online media categories compared with 162 submissions last year.
Present we re Deputy Works Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin, Works Ministry secretary-general Datuk Zohari Akob, Construction Industry Development Board chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid and Malaysia Highway Authority director-general Datuk Ismail Md Salleh.
