MANIPAL has been synonymous with high quality medical education since the 1960s. For many Malaysians, it was the favoured destination for a superior education in medicine, dentistry and even engineering.

MMMC was established 20 years ago and it is known as one of the best medical schools in Malaysia, and a provider of high quality medical professionals to the Malaysian health system.
MMMC’s programmes are unique in that the twinning feature requires students to go to India first and return to Malaysia for the clinical training in Malaysian general hospitals. This is in reverse of the usual practice of such programmes and ensures that MMMC students get the best of two worlds.
Manipal University has one of the largest Anatomy and Pathology museums in the world and it is deemed one of the best museums in Asia with over 1000 dissected specimens on display.
Students perform cadaver dissections during their learning. This lays a foundation in the basic sciences in the first phase of their studies in India, and are reinforced with clinical training in Malaysian hospitals in the second phase.
MMMC commenced with the first batch of MBBS students in 1997, and since then almost 3,500 graduates have passed through its hallowed corridors up to July.
To complement the success of the programme, Dentistry was introduced in 2009 and MMMC seems set to pursue the self-imposed high standards in dental education.
If the numbers clamouring for the programme are any indication, the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is set to be another winner for MMMC. Leveraging on the Manipal’s reputation in India as the top dental school, MMMC has certainly modelled a winner.
