SEGi fosters industry talents

-

SEGi University & Colleges has been nurturing talents since 1977. As a leading education institution, SEGi continues to develop innovative programmes to cater to the industry’s needs. The School of Hospitality and Tourism at SEGi offers programmes in the areas of hospitality and hotel management, tourism management and culinary arts to equip students with skills and knowledge increasingly in demand.

SEGi is always on its toes to reinvent strategies and find ways to improve, ranging from its programmes to the facilities available in the campuses — all to deliver superior tertiary education to its students.

Students are provided first-class teaching environments, which include a mock fine dining restaurant, mock hotel rooms and a fully functioning kitchen. These facilities provide hands-on experience in culinary cooking techniques and other practices that will benefit them in their future careers.

SEGi is committed to providing educational excellence by preparing SPM leavers for the workplace through its innovative programmes. The first step towards a successful career in the hospitality and tourism industry begins with a SEGi Foundation in Arts.

This accelerated one-year programme bridges students from secondary studies to university degrees, and is designed to help them continue their tertiary education in a wide range of undergraduate studies.

Upon completion, they can then articulate into our Bachelor of Hospitality Management (Hons) or Bachelor of Science (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management.

The hospitality management degree is developed to equip students with intellectual and leadership skills that allow graduates to move into international managerial positions in prestigious organisations.

Our international tourism and hospitality management programme is developed in collaboration with the University of Sunderland. The programme incorporates an international flavour to degree-level studies for to our students. This 3+0 option awards a United Kingdom degree to graduates.

SEGi offers four high-quality diploma programmes, which are Diploma in Baking and Pastry Arts, Diploma in Culinary Arts, Diploma in Hotel Management and Diploma in Tourism Management.

SEGi Diploma graduates can apply for credit transfers and articulate into Year 2 of their degree programmes. School leavers may also consider a Certificate in Hotel Operations.

SEGi believes in giving equal tertiary opportunities to school leavers with excellent academic achievement, offering the High Achievers’ Scholarship (HAS) to deserving students. Financial aid such as the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) are also available for students who need help to fund their studies.
