IN WHAT WAY IS YOUR LIFESTYLE TODAY DIFFERENT COMPARED WITH A

DECADE AGO?

I’m not able to stay away from my phone for even a day as I use it to take photos and videos of my daily activities. To be honest, even when I’m on holiday, it’s impossible for me to unplug. Keeping up to date with local trends and media is much

easier now.

Technology has benefited me tremendously since I’m a style enthusiast. There are many sites at our fingertips which I turn to for advice on what to wear and how to wear certain fashion styles. If it weren’t for the Internet, I don’t think I would have developed a proper fashion sense. Growing up, my outfit options were mostly limited to

souvenir shirts.

02

ANY ROLE MODEL WHO YOU FOLLOW CLOSELY

ONLINE?

I love Kendall Jenner. I admire the way she carries herself and how she is so different from her sisters. Her fashion choices are original and are used as a reference point by many — myself

included.

03

DO YOU FIND IT HARD TO KEEP UP WITH SOCIAL

MEDIA?

Yes, especially when I first started dabbling in it. At first, I was not very active on social media. However, over time I began to realise that many nowadays socialise through social media and that there is no escaping it.

04

DO YOU THINK SOCIAL MEDIA CAUSES MORE HARM

THAN GOOD?

Good or bad, it really depends on how one uses it. Social media is essentially fun and exciting. It creates a space where we can easily meet and engage with new

people from different communities.

I know most millennials today communicate more through social media which I don’t really get because I still value face-to-face conversations. I don’t know about others but I find it hard to post personal matters on social media. I also feel that users sometimes need to take a step back because people tend to let their emotions run wild on social media. One of my biggest pet peeves is

when women run down other women online.

One thing’s for certain — social media is not a place

for competition but inspiration.

05

YOUR IDEAL SOCIAL MEDIA ETIQUETTE? Sharing good thoughts regardless of any situation. Honestly, we share because we want attention and I see nothing wrong with that but we need to stop putting so much expectations on how people should react with what we put out. We also have to learn how to deal with the

criticisms that come our way.

My mother actually monitors my posts. She is my gatekeeper and if she does not approve, then it’s a no-go.

06

IF YOU COULD CREATE AN APPLICATION TO IMPROVE SOCIAL MEDIA, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

One that would detect vulgar language and immediately block or completely ban users of such

language.
