Bogus dentist Nur Farahanis issues public apology

-

MELAKA: Bogus dentist Nur Farahanis Ezzaty Adli, 20, who was jailed after being convicted of offering unlicensed dental services, has issued a public apology.

Nur Farahanis, better known to her social media followers as Nara, made the apology via a video on Harian Metro, two weeks after she was criticised by Netizens for not owning up to her mistakes.

In the five-minute video, she expressed regret for publishing what was deemed a misleading video following her release from jail.

She admitted that contrary to her earlier claims, she did not receive any help from the Health Ministry.

“Today, I want to make an apology video, as well give as an explanation on the issues discussed on social media.

“First of all, I’d like to touch on the issue of my video, uploaded on Feb 2, where people had labelled me arrogant and showing no remorse despite being sentenced to jail.”

She said the video was made with good intentions in mind, and that she was not seeking publicity.

“The video was meant for me to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who had spent time to listen and understand my situation.

“I did not receive any help from the Health Ministry or the health minister.

“But it’s okay, I still want to apologise as the video had caused so many problems. I am sorry if I had offended anyone,” she said.

In the video, she also apologised to dental practitioners.

“I would also like to apologise to all dentists, dental experts and everyone in the dentistry field for my wrongdoings.

“I was just 19. I did not know anything about the law and that my actions would cause problems.

“This will serve as a lesson to me.

“I regret my actions.

“It will be a lesson to others as well to not make the same mistake,” she said.

She said she did not receive any financial aid from the Malaysian Mu s l i m C o nsumers’ Association and Malaysia Islamic Economic Activist Organisation.

She hoped that people would no longer misinterpret her situation.

She said she was planning for a better future.

She had pleaded guilty to providing private dental services without registration under Section 27 of the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998.
