WHY SO STRICT IN TAIPAN, BUT NOT SUBANG PERMAI?

ILLEGAL PARKING

FRUSTRATED motorists are complaining about the growing number of vehicles being parked illegally in front of a hypermarket in Persiaran Subang Permai, Subang Jaya.

A resident named Fariz told Actionline that illegal parking was rampant in the area despite so many complaints to the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ).

“Every time I pass the road on my way home, I see vehicles parked in front of the hypermarket.

“Inconsiderate motorists going to the hypermarket have been parking haphazardly by the roadside, causing traffic to slow down.

“Although there is ample parking space in the hypermarket, motorists still prefer to park outside illegally.

“These illegally-parked vehicles are disrupting traffic on the road, especially during peak hours.”

He claimed that MPSJ had been strictly enforcing the law only on vehicles parking illegally in Taipan Business Centre in USJ 10.

“In the area, any vehicle that is parked illegally will be towed away immediately. They should do the same here,” he said.

ACTIONLINE:

Subang Jaya Municipal Council corporate and strategic management deputy director Azfarizal Abdul Rashid said the council’s enforcement department conducts regular patrols to deter motorists from parking illegally by the roadside.

He said since Jan 1, 3,861 compounds had been issued by MPSJ for illegal parking.

“We will continue to monitor the road to ensure vehicles are not being parked illegally and disrupt traffic flow.”
