Teen attacked by thugs over loud music

-

PASIR GUDANG: A 17-year-old teenager was injured in a brawl involving 15 people after he allegedly reprimanded two of them for playing loud music on their car sound system.

The 2am incident, which occurred at the compound of the Jalan Tasek 64 flats in Bandar Seri Alam here, began when the teenager told off the two men for the blaring music.

Seri Alam district police chief Superintendent Jokhiri Abd Aziz said the tiff escalated into a fight between the victim and the two men.

It became a violent clash when another group armed with parang and knives jumped into the fray.

“The victim had reproached and advised the two suspects, who were playing songs at high volume from the speakers of their car, which was parked at the flats’ compound.

“This led to a fight between them. Later, a group of friends of the two suspects arrived in several cars and motorcycles, and some of them brought along parang and knives. They attacked the lone victim,” Jokhiri said yesterday.

He said all 15 suspects were not residents at the flats.

The teenage victim suffered serious injuries in his back and head after being slashed by the attackers. He was sent for treatment at the Sultan Ismail Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Jokhiri said investigations were carried out under Sections 326 and 148 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon and possessing weapons at a riot.

No arrests have been made. Those with information on the incident are urged to call the Johor police at 07-221 2999 or Seri Alam district police hotline at 07386 4222.
