What industry captains say...

THE 2018 Budget has caring-yetpractical policies, particularly for the B40 and M40. On the whole, this appears to be a carefully crafted budget, addressing the rakyat’s immediate concerns, and forward-looking enough to ensure the nation’s future economic, social and spiritual development.

WE applaud the wholesome approach in crafting the 2018 Budget. It touches all aspects of the society and rakyat from all walks of life. The budget provides wide ranging and inclusive measures to promote economic expansion and wellbeing of the rakyat.

ONE clear focus of this budget is to “shape the future” for all Malaysians, with emphasis on investments in infrastructure, education, and skills and talent development; measures that will boost growth and make the economy more inclusive. AMBANK is also heartened to note that 2018 Budget has indeed facilitated the advance of the digital economy via the creation of the Digital Free Trade Zone, which is expected to serve as a hub for small and medium enterprises.

INCLUSIVENESS is the key word for the 2018 Budget, with broadreaching economic plans that aims to reduce income inequality, narrow gaps in wealth distribution, and bring socio-economic development to all. The government stays focused on fiscal discipline and consolidation which should allay concerns that it may pause on narrowing its deficit.
