PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will leave behind a legacy of a zero-corruption Malaysia, said former second finance minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah.

Husni (BN- Tambun) told the Dewan Rakyat that Najib’s leadership was dedicated to combating corruption, which was evidenced by the Malaysian AntiCorruption Commission’s (MACC) presence in ministries and government agencies.

“After I left the cabinet, I met Najib a few months ago. I said we must change for the future. We want a different future (and) we want zero corruption. Najib said ‘Yes, Husni’.

“What I see are efforts to apprehend those who are corrupt.

“I told him to put MACC officers in committees and he gave his affirmation.

“(It is apparent) that in ministries, there are MACC officers.”

Husni highlighted the importance of following the lead of “one horse” to see positive changes for the future and declared his loyalty to Najib’s leadership.

“I have friends in six Chinese national groups and I met 10,000 of them, who said they want changes. They have a philosophy of following the lead of ‘one horse, not six’.

“I am proud that I follow the lead of one horse, which means I follow one leader of one organisation (Najib in BN). If we follow one horse, if it makes mistakes, we can help rectify them.”

Husni said along with him, the 10,000 Chinese people he met believed that Najib would leave behind a corruption-free legacy.

“When it is time for Najib to step down, the legacy that he will leave behind is a corruption-free Malaysia.”
