Media Prima portal to boost e-gaming push

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Labs brings a local twist to gaming portals by launching its latest portal, MyGameOn, here yesterday.

This portal targets gaming enthusiasts and has contents in English and Bahasa Malaysia to highlight the local gaming industry.

It provides news, reviews and events for games, featuring local and international contents, and hopes to attract urban and suburban visitors aged between 12 and 25.

Apart from livestreaming the latest games and tournaments, MyGameOn will also feature events that focus on local developments, indie developers, meet-ups, egame tournaments and leagues.

Media Prima Labs and Operation group general manager Nicholas Sagau said the challenge for the past few years in the local gaming industry was that it never had a proper platform to highlight game content.

“There are not many platforms available for game developers to be discovered. So, we came up with the idea where there needs to be a platform to highlight these achievements and contents.

“When people visit our portal, they will know that many games come from our backyard.”

He said this at the launch of the MyGameOn portal at the third Level Up KL 2017 conference, catered to the gaming industry in Southeast Asia.

MyGameOn users will be able to check game schedules, details, team reviews and buy tickets to watch tournaments on the portal.

The platform also serves as an opportunity to expose and encourage game developers to expand their trade.

“We hope to stay in this industry for a long time.

“It is a new space for a group like Media Prime Bhd to venture in, but it is an exciting and fastmoving space, so we hope to see ourselves here for a long time,” Sagau said.
