Selena Gomez ft. Marshmello

OUR favourite girl is back with another chart-topper after collaborating with EDM producer Marshmello on the single, Although not groundbreaking, it’s Selena Gomez’s most personal yet. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, she said: “The song is very beautiful and personal and the lyrics just have a whole story of its own. Weirdly, at the time I worked on it I was going through stuff too, so it mirrored everything.”

Her battle with lupus has been a long journey and she recently shared a very emotional post on her kidney transplant.

We’re glad she’s recovered and is ready to focus on her music. This single is honestly not her best work, but her story sells.

The chorus is a tad too repetitive, lyrically and melodically, but at the same time, it’s a no brainer for commercial radio.

“I’ve been running through the jungle, I’ve been crying with the wolves, to get to you, to get to you. I’ve been down the darkest alleys, saw the dark side of the moon, to get to you, to get to you”, she sings.

The song is a familiar and safe track. Personally, I feel it would’ve been better as a ballad than an EDM infused track (no offence, Marshmello!)

Let’s be real. Coming up with so many songs within such a short period of time is usually a hit or miss, even if you’re Selena Gomez. However, that doesn’t make us any less excited about her upcoming releases.

She has no doubt come a long way as a person, daughter and an artiste; it feels like as though we watched her grow up. Wolves may not be the best we’ve heard but it’s certainly not a bad track.

We’re ready for more. Bring it on girl!

He revealed in his recent interview with BBC Radio that, “I was going through a really tough time last year. I live in London, and I went through a breakup. And I dealt with the breakup in a bad way, and I was just going out way too much.”

Doesn’t that sound all too familiar? That’s one of many reasons why I love Sam Smith. His work is always real and raw, like you could almost feel his pain through those lyrics. Indeed, ballads are his forte and he seems to be really good at it.

I’m really excited to see what has to offer. According to his chat

he explained that, is a gin and tonic with your friends. The new album is a whiskey by yourself in a dark room, at night, thinking about life. I went into a deep place. I don’t think I’m going to go into that place ever again, because it got a bit too deep.”

Well, I personally am not a drinker but I’m thrilled alright.
