AS one of the most established higher education providers in Malaysia, SEGi University & Colleges offers more than just tertiary education.

SEGi University & Colleges was established in 1977 as Systematic College in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, offering professional qualifications.

Since its founding four decades ago, SEGi has undergone significant growth, strengthening the quality of its wide range of programmes from certificate, diploma and foundation studies up to doctorate level.

It is one of the most established private higher education institutions in Malaysia, with its flagship campus in Kota Damansara, and four other campuses in Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kuching.

SEGi understands the importance of a great learning experience and provides fullfledged facilities and amenities, which include, but not limited to, multidisciplinary laboratories to facilitate students in conducting experiments, full-functioning kitchens and a mock restaurant modelled after fivestar hotels, well-stocked libraries, SEGi EyeCare and SEGi Oral Health Centre.

WIDEST RANGE OF QUALITY COURSES Programmes offered at SEGi University & Colleges are meticulously planned and are of equivalent to that of prestigious international universities.

This is made possible through close collaborations with a consortium of global partners that consists of the University of Southern Queensland in Australia; University of Sunderland, University of Greenwich, Keele University and Abertay University in the United Kingdom; as well as Troy University in the United States.

SEGi is one of the most comprehensive higher education institutions in Malaysia, offering courses in science, technology, creative and other non-technical programmes, such as Health Sciences (Medicine, Optometry, Dental Surgery, Pharmacy and Biomedical Science), Allied Health Sciences (Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Environmental Health, Healthcare Management, Occupational Safety and Health), Business and Accounting, Communication Studies, Creative Arts and Design, Early Childhood Care and Education, Engineering and the Built Environment, Hospitality and Tourism, Information Technology, Law, Pscyhology, American Degree Programme (ADP) and Pre-University Studies.

What sets SEGi apart from other institutions is its dedication to producing in-demand graduates by providing opportunities to boost students’ learning experience through its enrichment programme.

There are more than 100 workshops and seminars under the programme to prepare students beyond the classroom, including communication and grooming skills, among others.

On campus, academic life is complemented by a vibrant student’s life. This goes in line with SEGi’s belief that learning should happen beyond the curriculum. It provides exposure for students to try something new — to develop new skills, meet new people and also pursue their hobbies, and such is the case for Jazlin Zakri.

The Year 1 student in Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English and Public Relations had recently participated in SEGi’s annual singing competition, SEGi Idol 2017. Academically, Jazlin described her learning experience as eye-opening.

“There's always a balance of what you will learn in each semester. Whether or not you lean towards English or Public Relations, each subject will offer knowledge that is useful for each field.”

She said her classmates were fun and her involvement in extracurricular events had also given her new experiences and helped her prepare for the real world.

With a student population of 25,000 across all campuses, there is always a hive of activities, including cultural, social, sporting and recreational activities all year round.

SEGi has five campuses nationwide in Kota Damansara, Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kuching.

Their contact details are as follows: SEGi College Kuala Lumpur (03-20702078 or 018211 8653); SEGi College Subang Jaya (038600 1777 or 016-212 9154); SEGi University Kota Damansara (03-6145 1777 or 011-1210 6389); SEGi College Penang (04-2633888 or 013-629 4880); and SEGi College Sarawak (082-252566 or 017-859 2566).

Students can expect a vibrant campus lifestyle at SEGi University & Colleges as it boasts approximately 25,000 local and international students.
