BIN­TANG Biru As­sump­tion Foot­ball Academy emerged as the win­ners of the Pe­nang Kick­er­sS­port­sUnite Samba Bola 7-Aside Unity Foot­ball Car­ni­val re­cently.

The team, coached by S. Sun­dram and Roslan Aziz, de­feated Kedah’s Pu­teri Jaya Kids Soc­cer team 2-0 in the Un­der-12 fi­nal for the Datuk Shukor Salleh Cup.

Both sides played to a 0-0 draw at full time, and in a three-kick penalty shoot-out, Bin­tang Biru’s goal­keeper Mohd Iqbal Azman saved the first two kicks while his team­mates con­verted.

As­sump­tion FC pres­i­dent Sun­dram, who has been helm­ing the club for over 30 years, said it was a back-to-back suc­cess for his charges af­ter hav­ing won the Royal Se­lan­gor Club Milo Un­der12 In­ter­na­tional Foot­ball Sev­ens ti­tle last month.

“We are proud that some of our boys, in­clud­ing S. Ku­maahran, Muham­mad Jafri Fir­daus Chew and Syafiq Ah­mad rep­re­sented the coun­try at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur Sea Games.”

Sun­dram said his club train about 200 to 250 play­ers (be­tween the ages of eight and 16) at the pub­lic field be­side SK St Marks in But­ter­worth dur­ing week­ends. K. Kandiah
