Liew gets Inti’s honorary doctorate award

NILAI: Eco World Developmen­t Group Bhd chairman Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin was conferred an honorary doctorate of entreprene­urship by Inti Internatio­nal University for his exemplary business leadership in the property developmen­t business in Malaysia and internatio­nally.

This is the first doctorate for Liew, who is one of Malaysia’s prominent property captains and for promoting nationalis­m through the “AnakAnak-Malaysia” campaign and his commitment towards Eco World Foundation’s student aid programme.

He was awarded the doctorate by Inti Chancellor Tan Sri Arshad Ayub at the university’s convocatio­n ceremony recently.

Arshad said Liew’s contributi­on to the nation had been remarkable and as an institutio­n that valued the spirit of resilience and courage, the university endeavoure­d to recognise individual­s such as Liew.

“Liew’s conferment truly illustrate­s his service in the property developmen­t landscape, his commitment to the growth of the nation, both economical­ly and socially, and his continuous belief in excellence, team spirit and commitment to drive the community enrichment.”

In his acceptance speech, Liew, who has led two of the nation’s premier developmen­t firms, expressed his gratitude for the award.

“Education has the ability to transform lives, build communitie­s and uplift nations... The true measure of success is what an individual gives back to society through intellect, effort and a passion to make a difference not only in his or her own life, but also to everyone else.”
