KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak yesterday visited Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).

Najib, on his Twitter and Facebook accounts, posted a photo of him and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, sharing a light moment with the former opposition leader and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

“I visited Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at HKL today (yesterday). He had undergone surgery a few days ago. May he recover soon,” he wrote in the caption.

Anwar ’s son, Muhammad Ihsan, expressed his gratitude for Najib’s visit.

“On behalf of my family, I extend our gratitude to the Malaysian government for the courtesy visit by Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor to HKL.

“The prime minister and his wife met our father, who is recuperating under HKL’s care after an operation on his right shoulder,” he said yesterday.

It was reported that Anwar, 70, would undergo surgery on his right shoulder at HKL on Nov 12.

His family said he had been suffering from pain on the said area, which was aggravated in a road accident in Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh, on Sept 22.

He was en route to the Sungai Buloh prison after being hospitalised for four days at HKL when the accident occurred.
