Shukor is new CEO of Big Tree Outdoor
KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd has appointed Mohamad Shukor Ariffin as the new chief executive officer of Big Tree Outdoor Sdn Bhd (BTO), effective Nov 16.
Shukor will focus on strengthening the core business of BTO, Malaysia’s leading out-of-home (OOH) advertising company, while pursuing new opportunities in line with Media Prima’s long-term growth strategies.
He reports to Media Prima group managing director Datuk Kamal Khalid.
“He is well-respected in this field. With years of experience with the company, Shukor is Media Prima’s preferred choice to assume the CEO’s position. He has deep knowledge of the operations and commercial aspects of OOH business,” Kamal said, adding that Shukor and his team had played a pivotal role in securing the advertising concession for the Mass Rapid Transit and Light Rail Transit lines extension and would follow through with the rollout of key advertising assets, which would be a major contributor to BTO’s revenue.
BTO chairman Raja Datuk Zaharaton Raja Zainal Abidin is confident that Shukor will continue with efforts to not only maintain the company’s dominance in Malaysia, but also expand into new markets abroad.
“The appointment also reflects our strong succession planning that enables a smooth handover of responsibilities and operations, thus ensuring our clients continue to receive the excellent level of service that they have been accustomed to from BTO,” she said.
Shukor was BTO’s chief operating officer and joined the company as corporate affairs and business development manager in April 2003.
