APOLICE inspector, two corporals and a political secretary to a controversial politician were arrested yesterday for allegedly robbing an insurance agent at a shop in Rawang.

It was learnt that the 51-yearold victim was manning the premises on Nov 12 when three men entered, identifying themselves as policemen.

The men claimed they were investigating complaints made against the company.

One of the men then walked out of the shop to guard the entrance, while the other two asked the victim to hand over his identification card and mobile phone.

The victim was also made to hand over the company’s cash of RM4,000.

The victim was then ordered to follow the men to a police station to facilitate “investigations”.

As the victim went into his office to take his bag, the three men fled in an unmarked car.

The victim immediately lodged a police report, which led police to three of their own men, all aged 30 and attached to the Gombak and Dang Wangi police headquarters.

The 34-year-old political secretary was later nabbed in relation to the case.

Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmad said the case was being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery.
