THIRTY winners walked away with a Modenas MR2 motorcyle each in the “Se-Motor Sehari” contest organised in collaboration between Etika Sdn Bhd (Etika) and 99 Speedmart.

Etika is a beverage distributor and manufacturer and 99 Speedmart is a chain of mini-markets.

The contest ran from Aug 26 to Sept 24. It was designed to reward Etika’s consumers.

Consumers were required to buy an Etika beverage at a 99 Speedmart convenience store to stand a chance to win a motorbike worth RM3,765.

The beverages that consumers could choose from to enter the contest were Pepsi, Revive Isotonic, 7UP, Tropicana, Mirinda, Lipton Ice Tea, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, MUG, Kickapoo, WONDA Coffee, Calpis and Dairy Champ.

They had to buy the beverages in a single receipt.

They were required to answer a question and send the answer to the number provided via WhatsApp, together with their details and a photo of the receipt as proof of purchase.

One of the winners, Huang Chiong Ngie, from Kuala Lumpur said it meant a great deal for him to win a Modenas MR2.

“I had to borrow my brother’s motorbike to move around all this while.

“He has been so great to me and, now, I can present him with a new motorbike for all of his help and as a goodwill gesture in return.

“I felt very lucky,” he said. Another winner, Mohd Saiful Md Sarif, also from Kuala Lumpur, said he was grateful for the opportunity.

“It came to me as a great surprise as I have not won anything before.

“It is not every day that you win a motorcycle.

“That made my day and I am happy to be one of the winners,” he said.

Another winner, Nur Aina Syafika Kassim from Selangor, said she was a huge fan of Etika’s beverages.

“I would like to thank Etika for this opportunity and for fulfilling my dreams of owning a motorcycle.

“I feel overwhelmed.”

Etika marketing vice-president Santharuban T. Sundaram said the contest was one of many initiatives by Etika to show its appreciation to consumers.

“Etika has seen tremendous growth. Hence, it is important for us to give back and thank of our consumers in different and fun ways,” said Santharuban.

99 Speedmart managing director Lee Thiam Wah said the partnership with Etika had enabled the company to reach and engage with consumers by giving them a chance to fulfil their basic needs through a contest.

“We are pleased with the outcome along with the number of entries received.

“It is an incredible way to engage and reward consumers.”
