Musa as saying the machinery was preparing to embark on an aggressive drive to spark the “electoral mood”.

“We will ensure that grassroots machinery is solid and capable of conveying the party’s message to the masses.

“For that purpose, we are preparing more than 100,000 party members to lead the movement,” Annuar said after chairing the Umno Information Machinery meeting here yesterday.

He said the machinery would use many approaches, not just conventional programmes.

“We have to adapt. Other than ceramah, we will carry out programmes through social media, such as on Facebook and Twitter, and spread information through WhatsApp.”

Bernama reported that 133,580 Umno information chiefs and secretaries at all levels nationwide were instructed to step up their programmes.

The Umno information machinery will focus on the “Fight For All” programme via the “Anda Tanya, Kita Jawab” segment of the Umno portal on the party’s official website, among others.

Annuar said he was confident the people would accept the explanation on the issues raised by the opposition.

“However, no matter the reply, it will not affect some people, especially the opposition, because they have their own perception.

“Our focus is the majority of Malaysians who want the truth.”

He said a special convention at the Umno General Assembly early next month would kick-start the party’s information machinery in preparation for GE14.

He said the convention on Dec 5, involving more than 1,500 senior information officers, was scheduled to be opened by Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“It will be held in the morning and will end in the afternoon, with a briefing by Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“The briefing will involve about 4,000 grassroots leaders. It will kick-start the mood and winning mentality for GE14.”
