10-parcel charity cycling event with Alumni UiTM’s Budi Ride

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Cycling and charity seem to be a great match these days.

So, get your gear ready for Kayuhan Budi, or Budi Ride — a 10-parcel cycling event — organised by Alumni UiTM’s (Universiti Teknologi Mara) Tabung Pendidikan 1 Billion (TP1B).

The first parcel starts in UiTM Kota Kinabalu on Dec 2.

Budi Ride is scheduled to run through UiTM campuses in the country over four months on dates that will be confirmed later.

The last parcel is scheduled to be in Sarawak at UiTM Samarahan.

The event is being organised to promote public awareness of TP1B, an endowment fund launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in April 2015.

The fund is to benefit young Malaysians from low-income families.

Since its launch, it has helped more than 100 underprivileged students.

Beside this, TP1B is fully sponsoring two students in Epsom College until 2020.

So far, it has also provided emergency financial assistance to Malaysian students overseas.

Outreach activities with local communities will be organised through each parcel in the different states where the event runs through.

The ride is split into three categories:

INDIVIDUAL 80km ride, where the registration fee is RM90;

INDIVIDUAL 30km, where the registration fee is RM50; and,

GROUP (four persons) 80km, where the registration fee is RM320.

The second parcel takes cyclists on the UiTM Pasir Gudang-UiTM Segamat route.

It resumes for the third parcel on another date through the UiTM Segamat-UiTM LenduUiTM Kuala Pilah route.
