China’s e-commerce WBL 312 platform to boost halal trade

-

KUALA LUMPUR: YHY Group Sdn Bhd and Zhongrun Huatong Industrial Co Ltd are looking to use China’s e-commerce WBL 312 platform to boost bilateral trade in halal products.

YHY Group said the collaborative agreement with Zhongrun Huatong was signed last week at the 13th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) held at the Borneo Sarawak Convention Centre, Kuching.

WBL 312, an e-commerce platform, established by Zhongrun Huatong and Tencent Holdings Ltd, is the first fully implemented halal traceability system in the world.

It is the only officially authorised certification in the Chinese market circulation based on systems used by China’s Commerce Ministry and National Code Centre.

“If halal certification is combined with WBL 312, more highquality Chinese halal products could be exported out. In the meantime, products that meet dual certification will get easier access into China,” said YHY Group.

“Consequently, both sides could establish and strengthen partnerships, mutual trust, mutual integration and connectivity,” it said.

Zhongrun Huatong has set up traceability interconnection with many countries including Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and more than 100 other countries by the use of Beidou system, LEO and encryption system.

In Malaysia, YHY Group is the sole authorised company to issue the WBL 312 QR code for all halal products shipped into China.
