TFC II, Felda to know fate tomorrow

-

AMPERSAND Sports Sdn Bhd, an agency dealing with sponsorship rights, has been entrusted by Football Malaysia LLP (FMLLP) to attract sponsorships for the Super League, Premier League, Malaysia Cup and FA Cup competitions.

FMLLP head Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and Ampersand Sports chairman Tan Sri Vincent Lee signed an agreement yesterday in Johor Baru.

Tunku Ismail, who is also FA of Malaysia (FAM) president, said: “Ampersand will source for sponsorships and the deal is for five years.

“Ampersand has set a target to source a minimum of RM104 million over five years.

“FAM will not take a sen and the sum raised from this initiative will also be channeled to developments programmes conducted by the state teams and clubs.

On the fate of top-tier teams Terengganu FC (TFC) II, formerly known as T-Team, and Felda United, Tunku Ismail said: “It will be known on Thursday (tomorrow).”

“We will have a meeting on Thursday to discuss this issue.

“The status of TFC II and Felda will be touched on extensively,” he added.

The Terengganu FA (TFA) wrote to FMLLP last week to seek approval for the restructuring of TFC II and also to convert them into the state team’s feeder club, while Felda have yet to be granted a licence to play in the Super League.

Perak SEDC and Negri, who finished third and fourth in last season’s Premier League, have been approached by FMLLP to possibly take up the vacant spots in the Super League if TFC II and Felda are relegated. Halim Said
