LRT SERVICE DOWN FOR TRACK UPGRADE

KUALA LUMPUR: LRT commuters using the Ampang and Sri Petaling routes may need to look at other public transporta­tion as the two lines will be temporaril­y down from 11pm today.

In a statement yesterday, Prasarana Malaysia Bhd said the changes were to accommodat­e track upgrading works between Chan Sow Lin Station and Miharja Station.

The lines will resume its services tomorrow at 11am for the Ampang Line and 6am for the Sri Petaling Line.

“Rapid KL will be providing shuttle train and bus services to ensure commuters will be able to get to their destinatio­ns during the temporary change of operation hours tomorrow.

“The shuttle train, which will operate on a 16-minute frequency, will start its services between 6am and 11am from Ampang Station to Chan Sow Lin Station.

“Ampang Line will operate on its normal frequency of six minutes after the track upgrading works have been completed,” it said.

It added that free shuttle with 15-minute frequency from Miharja Station to Chan Sow Lin Station would be provided for seamless travel for affected commuters.

“To ensure smooth travel experience, adequate signage and announceme­nts will be provided.

“Furthermor­e, additional staff will be present at the Ampang Line stations to assist commuters in obtaining informatio­n about the shuttle train and bus services,” it said.
