CO-PRODUCERS of Pinjamkan Hatiku, Aurawhite Global Sdn Bhd and Nuansa Sdn Bhd, yesterday lodged a police report against a person who recorded a Facebook Live feed during the screening of the film at a cinema recently.

Film executive producer Datuk Saiful Safwan Mohamed Ghazi said his team realised the illegal activity only on Saturday, two days after the film opened in cinemas.

“We found out last Friday and only a day later we managed to track down the person and warned him through a message sent to his Facebook account.

“Although the video has been deleted, we decided to lodge a police report to deter others as Pinjamkan Hatiku is b eing screened in cinemas,” he said at the Puchong Jaya police station.

Saiful said when the recording was dicovered, more than 600 people had viewed it.

He hopes the authorities will take action against the person.

Pinjamkan Hatiku director Osman Ali expressed his disappointment as this was the second time his work had been pirated at the cinema after Kau Yang Satu.

“Of course, I’m upset that it’s happening to my movie again. It seems like this problem can never be resolved.

“I hope there’ll be a more serious approach taken by the authorities, with the cooperation of the cinema management,” he added.

Pinjamkan Hatiku opened on Nov 30 at 108 cinemas in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore.

The film stars Ayda Jebat, Shaheizy Sam, Farid Kamil, Lia Natalia and Normah Damanhuri.
