-

In gearing up for the 14th General Election (GE14), Shahrizat said the party machinery had been told to adopt a winning mentality and focus on preparing a top-notch machinery to ensure a bigger victory for BN.

“The Wanita wing, which formed the largest regiment in terms of election machinery, has been preparing for GE14 over the past four years.

“We have been on the ground all this while using a multipronged approach, such as the Skuad Sayang voluntary welfare programme.

“We have also introduced new initiatives, such as Skuad An-Nur, Kembara PRU-14 and the Nation’s Best Mothers Tour while promoting racial integration through Komunikasi Wanita Nasional (Kawan),” she said.

Earlier, Shahrizat shared her personal experience while travelling from Libaran to Kota Belud in Sabah, and from Jeli to Ketereh in Kelantan, to join Skuad Sayang volunteers in lending a hand to floods victims in both states.

“I truly appreciate the commitment and spirit of Skuad Sayang members in carrying out charitable work, and I believe the people can judge for themselves which party has been with them during difficult times.”

Shahrizat said the party members’s unity and morale were crucial in winning the general election, adding that Umno was in its best shape to face the next general election.

“The level of solidarity among party members is strong and this is the reflection of their confidence in the president’s leadership,” she said.
