Alibaba’s Tmall World launches mega sale
KUALA LUMPUR: China’s largest e-commerce company, Alibaba Group has brought its “Double 12” global shopping sale event to Malaysia through its Tmall World.
Launched in Malaysia for the first time, the 24-hour mega sale event will feature millions of products with special discounts available only on its mobile application, Taobao.
Shoppers who have yet to purchase Christmas gifts are also encouraged to come to Townpark at Mytown shopping centre to grab the special discounted products. The offline event ends tomorrow.
Alibaba Group Tmall World Southeast Asia business development manager Cici Cai said Malaysia was a key market for the group.
“This is the first time we have organised such event in Malaysia. It is an offline event, where Malaysians will get the chance to purchase our mega discounted products through Taobao.
“All they need to do is to come to the shopping mall and download the application.
“Shoppers who spend a minimum of RM200 on Taobao will get RM20 cashback and other prizes, such as winning an exclusive secret santa boxes with a host of goodies from Taobao and Tmall,” she said at the launching ceremony of Tmall World’s “Double 12” 24-hour Holiday sale, here, yesterday.
Cai said the event would be also held worldwide.
A wide range of products from fashion, accessories and home and living would be sold at unbeatable prices and discounts on Taobao and Tmall marketplace.
Hundred of prizes, giveaways and activities are also lined up for shoppers during the three-day event.
