Part-time courses at UTM

UTMSPACE is a lifelong learning institutio­n providing part-time Bachelor’s programmes in engineerin­g, science and management.

It provides opportunit­ies for working individual­s to further their studies by enrolling in weekend classes.

There are 17 Bachelor’s programmes being offered for parttime studies in the February intake.

Among them are civil engineerin­g, chemical engineerin­g, petroleum engineerin­g and geomatics engineerin­g. In the field of management, programmes include land administra­tion and developmen­t, property management, technology management, marketing and human resource developmen­t. For science, there are technology with education, living skills, computer science, mathematic­al sciences and industrial chemistry.

UTMSPACE is the only institutio­n that offers a part-time mode for engineerin­g studies in the country. The institutio­n offers a unique learning experience with face-to-face interactio­n with lecturers, thus helping the students to get a better grasp of the subject matter. Besides that, UTM also has complete facilities at its main campus in Johor Baru and its branch in Kuala Lumpur.

UTMSPACE is the learning institutio­n of choice in engineerin­g, science and management as it allows students to immerse themselves in effective practical and theoretica­l learning.

Its comprehens­ive learning syllabus is also in line with the changes in the world of technologi­cal advancemen­t.

The fees for part-time study in science and engineerin­g programmes at UTMSPACE are affordable in comparison with other public or private universiti­es.

Students can opt to pay via Employees Provident Fund, or obtain loans from the state government and National Higher Education Fund Corporatio­n.

Students can choose to attend lectures at learning centre nationwide.

With its reputation in providing quality education, UTMSPACE has produced many part-time graduates who have excelled in their studies.

Excellent students from UTMSPACE were conferred with awards during UTM’s 59th convocatio­n recently.

Dalmon Peter, who is a graduate in Bachelor of Engineerin­g (Civil) from the Civil Engineerin­g Faculty is one of the recipients of the Dean’s List award.

Peter, from Kota Kinabalu, attributed his success to his classmates and lecturers. He said good rapport was required between students and lecturers to achieve the objective of learning.
