MGB wants local firms to tap halal hub in Suining City

PETALING JAYA: Metronic Global Bhd (MGB) is attracting local companies to penetrate the Chinese market through its halal hub in Suining City, Sichuan Province, China.

Executive director Ric Koh said through collaborat­ive initiative with MB Longji Holdings Sdn Bhd, the developer of the Metronic Global Halal Industrial Hub, local companies could tap a 20.2ha area known as Asean’s Halal Industrial Park.

He said in order to attract investors, MGB would assist halal producers and logistics companies in developmen­t plans as well as constructi­on procedures and warehousin­g, among others.

“We sincerely welcome local or foreign companies to operate at the halal hub, which is a strategic industrial zone to grow not only in the Chinese market, but also other countries,” he said after the signing of a cooperatio­n agreement with MB Longji Holdings, here, yesterday.

Also present were MGB chief executive Vincent Set and MB Longji Holdings managing director Datuk Ng Kek Kiong.

MB Longji Holdings is the subsidiary of MB Longji Group, the key planner for the developmen­t of Suining Asean Halal Industrial Park in West China.

Under the agreement, Metronic Engineerin­g Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MGB, will also establish a consortium with leading engineerin­g consulting firm, Consultant Eagles Engineers Sdn Bhd, and Schneider Electric Industries (M) Sdn Bhdwill be known as the Project Management Consultant (PMC).

PMC will act as a one-stop mechanical and engineerin­g service provider to assist any halal product manufactur­er and logistics service provider to spearhead all developmen­t plans in the halal hub.
